SEBRING -- Expect to share the road with over 250 cyclists this weekend as the 28th annual Tour of Sebring takes to the road.

The Kenilworth Lodge is hosting the increasingly popular three-day event. Bikers will start and finish at the Lodge's parking lot on Lakeview Drive.

The event is geared to out-of-towners, but local riders are encouraged to take part.

Ira Goins, speaking for the Kenilworth, said participants are expected to arrive Friday night for registration and/or packet pick-up between 6 and 9 p.m.

Bicycling begins Saturday morning and continues on Sunday and Monday. The start time is 7 a.m. each day, but riders are expected on scene by 6:30 a.m.

This is not a race. Entrants are encouraged to travel at their own pace and take in the view.

There are several routes of varying lengths: 62 miles, 31 miles, 20 miles and 12 miles. This way children may take part, and novice adults as well as seasoned riders.

All the routes showcase Highlands County's natural beauty, running on back roads that spin out over rolling hills, and alongside sparkling lakes.

There will be ice cream socials and poker runs to both cool things off and spice things up.

On Sunday there is a special 100-mile ride going all the way north to Bok Tower.

The routes, which will be clearly marked, have rest stops along the way that are "deliciously stocked" organizers say.

Be prepared to roll regardless of the weather, this is a rain or shine event.

Everyone 6 years and older is welcome. Participants may chose to ride one day, or all three. Registration is possible each morning of the event. The price includes three meals a day.

The three-day registration fee is $100 for adults, $65 for teens and $45 for children from 6-12. Single-day registration is $40 for Friday and Saturday, $50 for Sunday.
